Manokwari is located on the west coast in the Bird's Head Peninsula of West Papua. It's the ideal place to travel to other destinations. The SDSP supports the Yayasan Alternatif Turis (YAT); the Foundation for Alternative (eco-) Tourism in Manokwari. The goal of the YAT Losmen project is to maximize the benefit of tourist activities for the local people and to promote sustainable tourism in the Bird's Head area.
If you make use of the YAT services or stay at one of their accomodations you directly support the Papuans. Profits benefit a small village in the interior of West Papua you can visit during your stay! |
